THE LITTLE IN YOUR HANDS

God met Moses in the wilderness of Sinai with a commission to go and bring the people of Israel from Egypt. When Moses asked how he would prove that God had indeed sent him, God didn't tell Moses to 'look an see' or open some visions to him. God asked him: "What is there in your hand?". Moses look into his hand and it was a rod; an old, dirty, crooked rod: but it was with that rod that Moses did mighty works before the Isrealites and pharaoh: parting the red sea for men to walk on dry ground!

This rod had been with Moses all the while. Yet he wondered how he would prove indeed that God had sent him. I believe he taught God was going give him something big. Of a truth God gave something big but it was in the unappreciated rod he carried.

Like Moses, most of us tend to look outside for something we need to become great instead of giving attention to grow and appreciate the little we have in-hand. We must learn to appreciate the little we have.

We are looking too far for greatness and in doing so forget the little we have. We easily forget that the oak tree was once a seedling. The mustard tree was once the tiniest seed before it became the mighty tree on which birds made their nests and under it's shade the mighty beast laid.

You have something. It may be small, unappealing but don't despise it. Instead of looking outside and only wishing for something that is out of hand why not take the little you have. Give time and attention to it and watch it become something great.

I leave you with this scripture:

And though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.-Job 8:7

Powerful word.. God bless you

Hummm, that is very true. But what can help one to know the vale of such thing............ I pray God help us.

So many times we are waiting for something big, when God has already placed the beginning in our hands. Jesus told the disciples when it came to feeding the 5000. You give them to eat! Then they gave excuses of what they didn’t have. But Jesus asked, “What do you have?” A few fish and a couple of loaves of bread.
Even when our hands are empty we can offer a hug as a sign of comfort and love. If we all used the little we already have for God’s Glory we coukd accomplish the much for the Kingdom!
Great post!
God bless!
