What to do in circumstances in life that we have no control over
Life presents many situations beyond our control, with various conditions and unexpected events we face. Yet, there is much we can influence, and we often have choices in how we respond.
Stoicism teaches that we can take action in every situation. This idea may seem harsh, implying that we can simply choose our feelings or responses. However, this is not the point. We will experience pain and challenges that we did not choose, which are part of being human.
What we can control is our reaction to these challenges. While it is difficult, we can become more aware of our available options and not allow circumstances to dictate our responses.
Acceptance and change. We can evaluate whether to change a situation or accept it due to lack of energy or inability to change it immediately.
Energy use. Are we wasting energy on things we cannot control, leading to paralysis, or can we channel that energy into the actions we can take, big or small?
Struggling with the problem. Is resisting our discomfort more painful than facing the difficult feelings or negative thoughts?
Values. Can we focus on our values and take meaningful actions despite challenges? Do our values provide direction in overwhelming situations?
If we dedicate most of our energy to what we cannot change, we have little left for the aspects we can control that can bring joy and peace.
Each person has a unique set of choices within their circumstances. While we do not have unlimited options, in every situation, there are things we cannot change and things we can influence.
Our reactions shape how we handle difficulties. This does not mean we have total control, but we have choices within many situations we face. One can always think, "within the circumstances I live under" to better understand the framework.
Work, health issues, family needs, societal expectations, and other factors may feel beyond our control, making us feel powerless. Yet, even in these cases, we can choose how we engage with what we can influence.
This understanding suggests that we should not push ourselves beyond our limits. Instead, we should realistically assess our situation and focus on what we can change.
There is a lot we cannot control, and it can overwhelm us. Fixating on these elements drains our energy. Endless worrying serves no purpose and wastes our resources.
Heal ypurself, twisted nut. Call things by their name ( totalitarism / fascism ) and how law treats such ( as crimes, most serious ) and allows for adequate self-defense in face of such... Instead of preaching insanity, as you are, illitetate crazies
