Prologue

What does it take to motivate You to action? Money are obviously one of those things and the same is with me ;) Money motivates me, so in this much longer (than my usually short) post I want to share with You my true story that happened to me recently. This is the post about how I won $1000 (USD) but mostly about motivation with its strange behaviors – and a lesson that everybody can learn from it and implement in their lives.

The Story

In one YouTube video I saw a shout-out of a new YouTube channel called BlockShow and their contest to post a comment below the video about their show. I thought – why not? I went to that channel, carefully read the rules because the reward of $1000 worth in Bitcoins is big thing ;) and I already saw plenty of great comments. I thought – I probably won’t win it anyway but it’s not so much work and I’m actually interesting and investing in cryptocurrencies so let’s try this.

I start writing my simple short comment without much engagement but then I hold for a minute and thought – hey this channel is really my type of channel: fast, short and funny, I really like it. So I actually watched all videos few times, read all comments again and I thought – this might be something good and I hope they make it to the top. I showed this channel to few friends and my family and they all liked it too but they weren’t interested in the contest or even subscribing to this channel (which was one of the rules to participate) saying that this is a waste of time. Sure – they could use $1000 but they won’t waste their time and I shouldn’t waste mine.

“You will not win it anyway and if not for the win so why You should care about some random YouTube channel.”

I asked – why I should NOT care about it, if I already like it? If people don’t care about things they like and at the same time neglect everything else than how can we (humans) change our world. Everybody saw an opportunity for what might be a great cryptocurrency channel but just didn’t care about it.

And then I got angry at my friends and family! I immediately forgot about the prize and start writing my comment as I was in some kind of motivational trance. You know when You feel it – motivation, inspiration and excitement. You do something with passion like You never felt it before and forget about the whole world around You. It’s just You and Your passion.

So I wrote what I felt and it actually took me few hours of writing and editing but I was so excited about this new channel. After I did it I read it one more time and I was like – OMG nobody would even care to read this whole thing – it’s so long! The longest thing I’ve ever written in my life! So I edited it one more time and it turned out even longer ;) I was like – Martin stop it and just post it! And I did.

Once I posted my comment – the motivational inspirational trance was suddenly gone. The fast it come in, the faster it went out. I was tired and happy. But what’s more interesting – it took just a while to turn this happiness into a sadness(?) Yes! Just a while later I felt sad! I was like – I wrote too much and nobody care about my opinion. I went to speak to my friends and family and they were very comforting ;)

“Haha, You just wasted few hours for nothing and people who see it will not even read it and most likely will laugh at You. Oh and definitely You can’t win this thing.”

And then my sadness again turned into anger. I yelled: Hell no! I didn’t waste my time. I felt great while I was doing it. Even if they don’t read it I wrote it all from the bottom of my heart. Even if I don’t win – I don’t care because ultimately I didn’t write it for the prize. That was truly ME. I wrote it all like I would write it for myself. I shouldn’t feel bad about it and definitely I shouldn’t feel ashamed that I did it. Of course that yelling happened in my mind ;) I didn’t speak about it with my friends and family anymore.

Some time later I received very positive reply for my comment from guys from BlockShow (who organized the contest) and I was like – hey, at least someone read it :) After that I forgot about the contest and focused on my day job.

Few days later I found out that I won first prize $1000 worth in Bitcoin and 2 tickets to any upcoming BlockShow Conference :)
If You are interested about my win – here’s the YouTube video (9m48s):

Summary of the story

Maybe it was the best comment out there? Or maybe BlockShow guys enjoyed my passion? Or maybe they just wanted to give the reward for my time? Maybe all of those above or none. It actually doesn’t matter how or why I won. What matters the most is that at the very beginning I saw opportunity and motivated (by money) I took action towards it regardless all my friends and family with their negative attitude. My action turned into passion and that’s something I definitely want to feel much more in my life regardless of the winning. Of course the reward is nice too ;) but THAT feeling is more important! It’s so important that I did not tell my friends and family about my win, and they don’t know abut this blog ;) Why? Simple! Because I don’t care about their negative opinions anymore and I should never listen to the people who wish me bad ;) I will keep doing my things for myself. And I do.

Truth to be told during the past few weeks I participated in few more contests and I didn’t win them. But every time I did participate in them I treated them seriously and I gave all of me. Why? Because I want to feel that strange motivational inspirational passion all the time.

If You are interested, here are my other contest submissions:
1. On reddit.com for designing MyEtherWallet Ether Cards (nobody cared about my designs ;) )
2. On steemit.com for logo for Champagne Crypto YouTube channel (actually I got second place :) )

Epilogue

Even if I didn’t win in those other contests I still feel good about all of them because I gave my best. Each time I felt that motivation, inspiration and excitement, and even now while writing this post it feels really good. This blog is about motivation so as a lesson to me and You – my reader, I want to leave this:

Motivation comes from different places and gives You different opportunities. It’s totally up to You if You use this motivation to take action towards opportunities. And even if You win or lose in those opportunities – at the end it doesn’t matter. Because once You feel this motivation, inspiration and excitement – You will want to feel it all the time. And desire for that feeling will drive You towards new motivations and new opportunities day by day changing Your mindset and turning You into the best version of Yourself!

And believe me – THAT feeling is GREAT!

Postscript – New Contest $2000! (STILL OPEN!)

For those who read this whole post here’s Your motivation and opportunity. Guys from BlockShow are doing another contest with first prize of $2000 worth in Bitcoins! And all You have to do is even easier – just subscribe to their YouTube and Telegram channel and hope they gather 2000 subscribers in few days. So the more You like/share this post and their videos the bigger the chance that You win. And the best part is that even if You won’t win this edition – they will definitely have more contests with similar rewards so it’s worth to follow them, especially if You are interested in cryptocurrencies. You can find all details about the $2000 contest in the below video.

So here’s Your motivation and opportunity – what You will do with them is totally up to You :) Oh, and if You are not interested in cryptocurrencies – You really should! Because those things will soon change the whole world and BTW – they can make You rich ;)
