My decision to leave steemit - not based on emotions.
Spring is almost here, and I have a massive backlog.
That ugly 1983 rd 80 mx is my latest arrival, and more my style, I restore bikes from start to finish on my own. I strip them, I paint them, I repair the engines, and the buck stops with me with regards to any mistakes. I keep most of them, some I sell to close friends or good repeat buyers at a discount, as they come back for more, every time.
Here is the last one of these I did, though a 1983 France only market bike with pedals and no gears, weird uh!.
Before.
After.
I have a long list of motorbikes "to do" also.
I have my Aprilia rs 250 to service and use this year. I have a Suzuki gt 125 twin from 1983 that I need to put back on the road, a Yamaha rd 350 ypvs 1985 that I have not finished. I have the Husaberg fe 400 to complete. this WSK classic racing bike to finish below.
I counted them today.
And I have 47 motorbikes in various states of restoration, yes 47. I have a 4 bedroom bungalow half full of them, and no we do not live in it. I have a workshop with 8 in it, 2 garages and 2 barns both stacked full of bikes and parts too.
I also have a collection of mint - as new classics stored under a local bank with 24 hour security, these are not counted in the 47 total, the 47 are "to do" you see.
My decision to leave here is not out of rage, and in no way angry or directed at anyone on here. It is simply a case of I have far too much to do in that weird and wonderful real world outside. Anyone wanting to start life on here or upgrade to reputation 69.8 can contact me via my wallet, follow through with a payment of 0.5 btc and take this account on today!....
If you want a fairly large collection of steem monsters also, they are also for sale for the whole collection not just singles.
Here is the bike I am preparing for spring today, as I feel it time to ride a few like I stole em whilst I am still young enough to enjoy doing that.
I also grow a lot of food for the local community.
Having found myself in a strange country by choice, I chose to buy a large amount of land. Rather than turn into a full time farmer, something this city boy knows nothing about. I let the local community use our land to grow food. For free. Having lived in the UK, and seen how people move there to abuse the benefits system and take, take, take. I decided because I can to give something back, to the locals, because I can. There is no value in takers, there is value in helping others help themselves, in my eyes anyway.
Doing this also takes a massive chunk of my time, as does cutting bloody grass, I get sick of the sight of it at times, and let the local farmers graze here for free. That though leaves me manure to clean up, though that is superb for the soil you see.
No rage quitter here, just a guy who is going to be incredibly busy, and has no time to write for 60 cents a post, it is simply not worth my time.
Most people care not about what I write about anyway, so I doubt I will be missed all the same. Any takers on this account?????
@shepz1 wishes each and every one of you a superb weekend and week ahead.
Have you considered hiring an assistant?
Nope, I do not know anyone that does what I do, or speaks my language here,
Hey shepz. I for one will be sad to see you go. but do understand. Never knew you were a bike nut and must have been chomping at the bit to get to those. Steem ends up gobbling all the spare time and getting the priorities right and balance is hard.
Hey my friend, thanks for the kind words, and yes it does take up way too much of my/our time.
Nobody really cares what I write about anyway, so I add little value here, I would rather be somewhere where there are true thinkers, who want to change things, not just bang on about steemit, and how they think other people should run their account.
That's not true, I enjoy reading your posts. There's more people joining every day. I think you'll be missing out.

Maybe, maybe not, who knows at this point if steemit will even exist in 1 months time.
Thanks for the compliment all the same.
Sad to see you go @shepz1 how about just delagate your power out and let it run on auto pilot????
On another note I bought “new “ back in 1973 a Suzuki TS 185. It has 3,500 easy miles on it, and it’s parked in my garage like new.😊
I did a ts 2 years ago, it arrived like this, a 250 though.
I stripped it down to a thousand bits, repaired the engine, painted it, even made the decals myself.
It ended up like this.
Still have it locked away for fun days. :-)
Very, very nice @shepz1 ! If I get the chance I will post a picture of my bike.
Nowadays they are trying to get rid of all the 2 cycle engines so sad. I grew up when Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha’s were everywhere........everyone had a bike😊
Yes I know they are, that is why I keep buying and restoring them, every time the governments try to ban something, it goes up in value massively. :-)
I would love to see that picture my friend.
👍
You have some amazing thoughts and knowledge as well as really talented hands, I've already told you how I feel about your decision and although I understand it perfectly, I will miss you and I don't think it's just me who'll do it, you're living the dream of many people and helping others to get it, I just want to wish you and your family the best and hope that sooner or later we all leave the big mess in which one way or another we have gotten ourselves.
Thanks for everything my friend.
Cheers my friend, and thanks for the special words, I am though not out of here until a buyer comes forward. >-)
Real world before the inter webs! Take care my friend. Do you have discord? I wouldn’t mind staying in touch here and there! Or telegram perhaps?
It’s hard to step back from the internet but it’s essential in many cases.

Sadly no, not since my last laptop died, I can send you my email before I depart, via your wallet and encrypted if you like? There are 4 others on here who have it, and I regularly talk to them there.
That sounds great! I would like to stay in touch

I think you add enormous value here and I'll really miss you. Perhaps when you've finished restoring those 47 bikes you'll come back to us. Wishing you all the best.
Cheers my friend, shame most of the community does not feel the same, as you can see from upvotes or lack of them on most of my posts.
Give it a couple of months and come back @shepz1. Steemit is up big time the last few days so it would be a shame to just sell your account. If it goes up in value you can come back and get more for the posts. I for one along with a lot of others in here really like your posts . You would be missed.
Cheers my friend, until someone comes forward and takes it off my hand I am stuck here anyway for now, and with 3 months to power down too, something else on my long list of things I do not like about steemit.
I'm interested in those cards, depends on their value to you.
Nobody is getting votes, anymore.
Proof of wallet has crashed the design.
I sure hope you keep documenting those rebuilds, more provenance, more value, imo.
The pics may go down, but your descriptions should persist.
Just so you know, steem needs you much more than you need it.
I guess there is around $1000 worth resale, I would take half that, though most will be put off by that price.
I will try to keep posting, I am just so tired of this place, that at times I find it as though I begrudgingly log in, just for the sake of it, and not with fond feelings or happy vibes.
It is boring listening to so called anarchists tell people how to run their own accounts, and I am not talking about you, more other people. They either want people to act free or they should just shut up themselves.
See, now I wish I had not bothered logging back in, and add people like markymark ripping people off daily, including me, and you get the picture well. https://steemit.com/writingprompts/@shepz1/re-themarkymark-writing-prompts-week-4-update-20190118t233053926z
Enough said, theft is okay on steemit, for some.
Bid bot bad,....
I hope whoever over bid it is doing it on purpose to kill the bots, but I feel for you, buddy.
It's just good crapitalism.
1000usd is out of my range, if you raffle them bid bot style I will put in a share of whatever pot you raise.
Public auction style? You going to bid them up lol,
You are invited by the way, to my new blockchain, when my youngsters in Lublin launch next month or 2, I will even give you a heads up re mining, before anyone else, except "my chosen few" and my chosen few are not neds!
Ok, cool.
I was thinking that if I put 100 steem in and the pot is 1000 steem I would get 10% of the cards?
I just have long term goals that allow for investing in sm cards at less than retail, if I can get them.
I will sort out a sale tomorrow along those lines.
A new blockchain mate and knowing you are involved it will be a very good thing. Please keep us updated I would like to know more.

In you I trust as you do I. :-)
Wow - I had no idea you had that many bikes!
I enjoy your posts and wish you were at least just putting it on a back burner but you gotta do what you gotta do.
I had a gold GT125 once many many years ago and it was a nippy little bugger.
Thanks for all that you have done here, and stay in touch by email anytime you feel so inclined - I like hearing from you (here is were I go and check my emails and find you have just sent me one)
You have my email so there simply is no getting away from you lol, not that I want to anyway.
Gt 125 when it arrived. It is the final model, the last of the air cooled twins and 1983 you see.
Gt 125 as it sits now.
I tuned it, ported it, made the exhausts myself, it hits 100 mph with the gearing I fitted, so for an old banger, it screams like bloody hell. :-)
I'm only now starting to appreciate the extent of your mechanical skills!
I had a 76 one just like this
My skills are extensive, from electrical to mechanical, though not rated on here, as I do not talk about steemit every day. :-)
Why not? - don't be so slack :)
