The rich man's MENTAL track toy

in #motors8 years ago

Lets talk about the absolutely MENTAL beast, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. I saw this during a visit to the Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese, so stay tuned for a story about that :). You can definitely tell, just by looking at it, that it is far from a "regular" car. The first thing you notice is all the exposed carbon. Yes, the chassis, body, drive shaft and suspension components are completely made of carbon fiber. This means that this raging bull is just slightly heavier than an NA Miata at 999kg!

The back end is simply RIDICULOUS! You can catch a glimpse at the 570hp Gallardo v10 that accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/100 in just 2.5 seconds!!!
The view on those wide tires is stunning and the exhaust tips right under the wing are simply badass.

The front design is a bit different from other lambos, and the side mirror mounts are a bit too weird to seem legal. That's because this car is track ONLY! No, you cannot drive this masterpiece on the road (unless you're a Qatari prince lol). So, how much for this car that you can't even take out to town? US$2.2 million to US$2.9 million! And don't expect this to be a luxurious ride either.

The interior is COMPLETELY stripped for weight savings. The windshield and windows are plastic and there are is no infotainment system whatsoever. There aren't even seats! Just foam pads stuck on the chassis. To compensate, the pedals move back and forth and the steering wheel is somewhat adjustable. But at the end of the day, this is for hardcore track racing so who cares?

This and the Reventon are two Lamborghini's not many people know about because not many were made. But OMG these are some rare bulls. Lucky you.

The Reventòn is awesome too, only 20 coupes and 15 roadsters! I was lucky enough to find it at the Museum as well!
