How Can Things Go This Wrong

I would say that most of us has by now watched this series and got deeply sucked in, it's like a highly addictive drug.

If you haven't seen this, I would highly recommend you at least just watch the first episode, I place it up there with Game of Thrones and House of Cards. What I really love about this story is that there is now humor, it is serious because the situation is serious which makes it feel more real. There's nothing worse than when writers or directors try to add in a comedic moment to create a contrast between the more hectic moments, it ends up watering down the entire show.

When I first saw the the show pop up in Netflix I was a little hesitant, this was due to Jason Bateman who has always been a mostly comedy actor, and I really couldn't see him in such a serious roll. I have definitely been proven wrong, and I would say he does a excellent job of playing a average Joe who got involved with the wrong people. It is an edge of your seat thriller that grips the audience from the very first episode. I would say the biggest reason both @princessmewmew and myself couldn't stop watching was because we were constantly wondering how Jason Bateman's character will pull through each time.

This is a great TV show to get lost in and the writers where spot on with the plot twists around every corner. The biggest problem with this show is that the release the entire season in one go and you just want to keep watching to find out what happens next. What's even better is that season two was just released this past Friday, and we are already almost at the end.

"The Byrdes and their teenage kids, Charlotte and Jonah, are, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary family with ordinary lives. Except for the job of Marty, a Chicago financial advisor who also serves as the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico. When things go awry, Marty must uproot his family from the skyscrapers of Chicago and relocate to the lazy lake region of the Missouri Ozarks." - Netflix

"Okay. Money Laundering 101. Say you come across a suitcase with five million bucks in it. What would you buy? A yacht? A mansion? A sports car? Sorry. The IRS won't let you buy anything of value with it. So you better get that money into the banking system. But here's the problem. That dirty money is too clean. Looks like it just came out of a bank vault. You gotta age it up. Crumple it. Drag it through the dirt. Run it over with your car. Anything to make it look like it's been around the block. Next, you need a cash business. Something pleasant and joyful with books that are easily manipulated. No credit card receipts, etc. You mix the five million with the cash from the joyful business. That mixture goes from an American bank to a bank from any country that doesn't have to listen to the IRS. It then goes into a standard checking account and voila. All you need is access to one of over three million terminals, because your work is done. Your money's clean. It's as legitimate as anybody else's." - Marty Byrde

Uh oh. I may need to watch this one.

Thanks for the heads up, Mork.

You are going to love it Tom

I just started season 2, If only I had the time to binge it lol Hill Billys, cartels, syndicates, drugs, money laundering, what more can you want from a show? Its like breaking bad for accountants lol

Hahaha that was a great analogy "breaking bad for accountants"

I dig "Ozark" too, pretty realistic and humorous yet quite scary at some times!

We are so excited to see season 2 of this show. We got sucked in right from the start of the first season and bunged it in a whole weekend. I was blown away by how he had the balls to just shut down his life and take that chance. He was lucky to not be dead though soI guess there was that. LOL
