SOORMA: True Story of a Paralyzed Hockey Player
Netflix never ceases to amaze me with curated movies. Today I saw a biopic loosely based on the life of an Indian Hockey Player Sandeep Singh. The story starts with a Hockey practice in a small town in India where small kids were trying to make their future in the game.

The lead (Sandeep Singh) starts the game early in his life too, but leaves hockey due to his coach harsh methods and gets to his family business of farming. Later in his life, Sandeep falls in love with a girl who is also a Hockey player and related to the hockey coach.
Sandeep Singh fell in love with this girl and joins hockey again after 9 years of break. Sandeep's sole aim is just to get the girl of his life and got caught on one such occasion. He goes to girls place to ask for his hand, but in return, the parents of the girl ask him to get in National Indian Team before thinking of such matter.
:: Major Turn in the Movie ::
This turn comes when Sandeep tries his best and gets in the National Team and becomes the top scorer in the tournament. Life was going great for this new player when he accidentally got shot in his back which left him paralyzed waist below.
This movies shows Sandeep’s fight with destiny and coming back to Hockey and winning World Cup for his country. This movie is a must watch and available on Netflix. Very well made movie with few songs and nice background track.
