Random Movie Recall: Scarface (& The Sht I Don't Remember)
So like many entreprenueres, I am deeply motivated by the first hour or so of the movie Scarface. I watch it maybe about twice a year to get my fix of 80's vibes and gangster sht. But this time watching it, I finally put some things together that hadn't clicked before (I actually "watched" it this time I guess lol) and in short here they are. (#SPOILERS)
- Angel was the only person visibly shook about doing the deal with the Columbians on South Beach.
As they ride to the location, he's in the back seat running his cross across his lips.
Everybody in the car dies in the pattern of rear driver, driver, passenger, rear passenger (or simply, clockwise starting with Angel).
That piece of lemon hanging off of Tony's lip after the brunch proposal between Sosa, Tony, & Omar.
The guy with the glasses and shotgun that kills Tony in the end, well here he is... at the beginning with glasses. He's shown as Omar is escorted off Sosa property after the brunch and helicopter scene.
A banker speaking about the development of Miami after we saw notations between Tony and the manager of the bank he launders his money. This stood out to me this time because I was actually doing inflation conversions when they spoke about money (fyi a $500 suit then is a $1200 suit today). Tony's banker wanted to increase the interest on Tony's deposits and there's no doubt that the bankers had a good hand in the real estate loans and various other investment projects in Miami at this time.
-Finally, (because like I stated, I only watch the uprise of Tony, not much of the downfall) Elvira would injust her coke in 3's. 2 up the nose and 1 orally. I don't ever remember her inhaling it, and idk why lol.
-Lastly, as I write this I think of Tony's tiger, which makes me think of Tony the Tiger, who sells "Frosted" flakes. The cereal wasn't in the movie, (a can of Mountain Dew was though & a few bottles of Jack Daniels in key shots and drinking interactions) but I like the reference so here's and 80's box of Frosted Flakes lol.
Thanks for your read, what movie have you recently watched and thought to yourself, "how have I not noticed that before?". Drop it in the comments.
