Whatever can happen in the future, advanced science has awakened the world of technology to move farther away. There are many technologies that we have felt the benefits of today, but some of them haven’t! Well, I found an advance in the world of biological science in Blade Runner 2049 (2017). This Sony movie’s provide an overview of the world’s sophistication in making bio-engineered humans, which is called “Replicant“.

Blade Runner 2049 is a Science Fiction (Sci-Fi) movie created by Sony. I see Sony has worked hard to complete this amazing widescreen appearance. Don’t ask about the visual graph used, Sony is an expert, you will be spoiled with a variety of good visual graphics and looks real. You can see the sophistication of California in the future.

Actually, if you don’t follow the sequel, you will be a little confused by the story, because this is a continuation of Blade Runner (1982) played by Harrison Ford. The distance of this sequel is quite long, which is 35 years (1982-2017). Ya, I also had to mess up the internet to find an older version of the Blade Runner.

Besides that, there are also several short films released by Denis Villeneuve and Warner Bros Pictures to Youtube, “Black Out 202“, “2036: Nexus Dawn” and “2048: Nowhere to Run”. That has become a bridge to understanding Blade Runner 2049.

Okay, what is a Blade Runner? That is a name used for new model replicants tasked with hunting down an old replicant called the Nexus 8. Hunting and eradication of the Nexus 8 is considered important, because the model has found something unexpected, can rebel, and has found a feeling.

Of course, it was bad for the company, because the manufacturer wanted slave workers who could be managed like robots, lacked hearts and feelings, so, for that reason, Blade Runner continued to hunt the Nexus 8. Which was considered an old model and was expired.

“K” (Ryan Gosling) is a LAPD policeman whose job is to retire the Nexus 8. Various actions from Ryan will amaze the audience. We realize that his role as K is so tense, in his efforts to find the source of problems that threaten peace.

Pregnant Replicants are the Source of Problems

The source of the trigger problem in this film is when K is in charge of patrolling and unexpectedly he finds something buried on Sapper Morton’s (Dave Bautista) home page. Yes, that is a coffin. It was the coffin that became the beginning of the entire Blade Runner story in 2049, and became the link between the first title and the sequel.

The autopsy results from the old replicant found something strange, a scar from a cesarean surgery section, of course this made the officers were stunned, because it was impossible for the replicant to get pregnant and give birth to a baby.

“Because you never seen the miracle”

This sentence was expressed by Morton, always haunting K and making him curious. So, K intends to reveal his true identity, search for various information until finally he meets Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), who becomes the key character in this movie.

In addition, Wallace (Jared Leto) also performed well here. He showed an extraordinary evil side, he was like a god who had changed human life in the future, with his company. In addition, there are also beautiful actress Ana de Armas, who accompanied K as Joi AI (Artificial Intelligence) girl.

Happy Watching!
