One of the great successes I have really enjoyed is the Star Trek reboot. Of course the old films with their so-bad-its-good schtick were great in there own way, but there are only so many times you can see a bunch of geriatrics in girdles climbing plastic rock faces.
I think the humour that Simon Pegg has brought is right on the money, and the rest of the casting has been inspired too. The only bit that makes me cringe is the in the first one when the ships computer cant understand Chekovs Russian accent; come on Hollywood, laughing at 'funny foreigners' is juvenile and its the flippin 23rd century, Siri would have improved at least a little bit!
I've enjoyed those too. They've all had a similar plot with some single enemy to take on, but they can do the effects so much better these days. I've been watching Discovery lately. That's good, even if some of the ideas are a bit weird. Will be interested to see how it links in with the original series
You can only have good 'goodies' if you have well defined 'baddies', ha ha. There is a new Pacific Rim on the way, Im not sure how they can make a plot for another one, but lets see if it works.
I loved Star Wars when it came out. But The second series twisted the whole story for me. It was no longer about Luke and saving the galaxy, it was about the tragedy of Anikin Skywalker.
Just as interesting in terms of a story, but I wish we had started out that way - from the beginning.
The new ones carry on from the last series (or the first depending on your point of view) don't they?
So in terms of timeline, that makes more sense to me. ;-)
The prequels just weren't very good in parts. The latest couple are much better and carry on some time later. Obviously they are all a lot older, but they introduce some new young characters
Hollywood is really running with these Star Wars franchises. The good news is they've all been pretty good so far. Looking forward to this one now. I haven't been looking forward to many films lately.
I didn't realise this was in production looks pretty cool. May even visit the cinema to see it!

I haven't seen the new movies yet. One day I'll get the time to sit and watch them.
So many movies, so little time..... ;-)
I meant to say that I started on Star Wars back when I was 11. It's been up and down since then, but I like the new ones even if others don't

I hope we learn more about Chewy as a youngin too !
I like how you thought about the caption ;-) It'll be exciting to see what the outcome will be like!
I like to be creative with titles.
It's good, so do i but I'm not very good at it unfortunately!
Had no idea this was coming out! Trailer looks alright but we'll see...
I heard about it a while back, but I don't tend to follow much movie news. I'm happy to just watch them as they come out.
