RE: ‘Game of Thrones Season 7 Pirated Over a Billion Times’

in #movie7 years ago

People do not realize the Internet is the world's largest copy machine. Anything that goes on there simply wants to be reproduced and distributed. That is its function. For the last 20 years, we witnessed the fight against this fact. Napster was most likely the first entity that want mainstream that proved this point. In the end, Napster went down but the reproduction of music/videos did not. It continues today in various forms.

Archaic copyright laws are still in place with creators holding on for dear life. The truth is that technology will help solve this problem (blockchain) although not without a fight. The music, film, and broadcast industries are all under fire. In 10 years, they will look nothing like they do today.
