Captain Vijay Malhotra (Pankaj Dheer) tried to defend himself when corrupt military officials, Pratap Singh (Suresh Oberoi), Virender Sinha (Dalip Tahil), and Jaswant Dalal (Salim Ghouse), intercepted the truck-loads of weapons and ammunition, the sister of Virender, Baldev (Sharat Saxena) whom they will sell for dark gangsters. Vijay Malhotra stopped the trio of smugglers, but was later shot dead by a mysterious man named DK, who was a figure of a smuggler.

 The film shifted to 20 years later where the Mumbai Police got a fax from an Interpol branch of Australia one Jaswant Dalal, a smuggler sought to enter India. A live catch operation was handed over to ACP Dinesh Kapoor (Ashish Vidyarthi), an old friend of Malhotra Vijay killed. Dinesh Kapoor sends a copy of the fax to a mysterious man named Vicky (Bobby Deol) and asks him to "prevent" Jaswant from being caught by police. Vicky helps Jaswant escape from police on the dock, but when Jaswant tries to kill him to wipe out the witness, Vicky shoots him instead. Vicky then escapes to Australia even though the police prevent him.

 In Sydney, Australia, Vicky meets Preeti (Preity Zinta), Pratap Singh's daughter, and woos while getting in trouble with Jojo, Baldev's son Sinha and defeating him. Vicky and Preeti are both in love. Pratap Singh and Virender Sinha (and his brother) are high-profile criminals in Australia. After friends and partners in crime, they share a faltering relationship with each other. Vicky meets Pratap, who identifies him as Jaswant's killer. Vicky promised Pratap Singh that he would make her stronger than he had ever imagined.

 Jojo destroys Vicky's apartment for which he is beaten. Vicky's household storms Baldev's, killing many of his men, and making him cough up the money for damage Jojo did to his apartment. Baldev reported this to his brother who ordered Vicky dead. Baldev and Jojo took snipers to kill Vicky who received his mother at the airport. They find his mother is none other than the estranged wife of Virender, Shanti (Farida Jalal). Convinced that Vicky was none other than Virender's son, the attempted murder was canceled. Vicky was later greeted by Virender's gang. At a party in honor of being thrown Vicky, Pratap was stunned to learn Vicky between his rival group.

 Virender takes Vicky to the place where he keeps this secret Pratap, the Jaswant, and it's DK in the file. Vicky shoots Virender dead and his sorrow to bay where the shark eats him. He then cigarette signature dumps Pratap lighters at the scene. Vicky then goes through the stolen files and finds the actual DK. The police took lighter than the Virender crime scene and handed it to Vicky who urged his brother, Baldev to rally men and launch an attack on Pratap. The squad was shot dead at a checkpoint by the Pratap man, except for Vicky, who worked with Pratap to get rid of Virender's gang. Vicky then reveals to Pratap that he is not the son of Virender, and that he has been tricked into believing Shanti he is his son, as he has lost himself. He also reveals that he was sent by the DK to kill Jaswant, Virender, and Pratap, and that they had to leave for India to kill DK to make Pratap king undeniable evil.

 Meanwhile he overhears Preeti Vicky's conversation with his father and reveals it to Shanti. Shanti calmly admits that she knows Vicky is not her son and she helps her kill her husband, who has helped the weapon kill her own child, without her knowledge. He reveals that Vicky is Vijay Malhotra's son, Raju and that it was Vijay Malhotra who was convicted of weapons smuggling based on testimonies from Jaswant, Pratap, and Virender. The corpse was stripped of all medals and his wife, Geeta (Raakhee) and the son were exiled by his community. Society even prevented its body from being cremated and left in a raging desert storm, where it lost in the sand. Preeti, upon hearing this story, agrees to help Raju / Vicky. Raju then summoned ACP Dinesh Kapoor and revealed his plans to bring Pratap to India and his knowledge of DK's true identity. The ACP then sets Jaswant, who is revealed to be alive and has helped provide Raju information to finish off Virender's gang, for free.

Raju arrived in India with Pratap and took him to his village where his mother sat desolately at a temple on the outskirts of the village. He reveals to Pratap who he really is and the result to defeat him. DK came to rescue Pratap, and he was revealed to be none other than Jaswant. Immediately Jaswant / DK's men arrive and in a raging battle, Raju kills the man and makes a lifelong disability Pratap and DK, makes them confess the truth, and then leaves them to the vultures to feed over. His name was cleared, Vijay Malhotra was given an honorable military funeral, and his son and watched widowed wife.
