In search of love, John took a chance,
Ordered a bride from a foreign land,
But when Nadia arrived, he saw at first glance,
She couldn't speak English, wasn't what he planned.

Despite the language barrier, they found a connection,
In the bedroom, their passion burned bright,
But trouble arrived with Nadia's cousins' inspection,
And John's peaceful life turned into a fight.

With twists and turns, the story unfolds,
A mix of romance and thriller it holds,
But pacing issues and a predictable twist,
Leave much to be desired, a missed opportunity missed.

Nicole Kidman shines in her role,
Alongside Vincent Cassell and Matthieu Kassovitz,
Their performances bring depth to the whole,
But the film falls short, leaving viewers in a mix.

Birthday Girl may intrigue the curious few,
But for most, it's a film that doesn't quite ring true,
A quirky romantic comedy turned thriller,
That fails to deliver, leaving much to consider.
