Poetic Film Review: Borat (2006)
In cultural circles, time does play a role,
A comedy once hailed, now left to grow old.
Borat, a film of yesteryear's fame,
With jokes that once were daring, now a shameful claim.
A mockumentary of sorts, with a road trip twist,
Characters portrayed with a comedic mist.
Cohen's genius once lauded, now forgotten,
As the world evolves, the humor has been smothered.
Once seen as edgy, now just crude and base,
Bodily fluids and nudity, a desperate pace.
Ethnic stereotypes, a relic of the past,
No longer appreciated, now seen as a blight at last.
The character of Borat, a symbol of bigotry,
A reflection of America's darker side, not so pretty.
A time when prejudice ran rampant, a sorry state,
But time has moved on, and now it's hard to relate.
Today, the film is seen as a relic of the past,
A bygone era of ignorance, now a painful cast.
Cohen's talent once praised, now seen as misplaced,
Borat, a film that once shined, now in a darkened space.
