In Jersey's dark and troubled night
A world of crime and shadows takes flight
Tony Soprano, a name that's known so well
A mobster's life, with secrets to tell

His friend Jackie Aprile, dying slow
A cancer that eats, with no place to go
Tony visits, with a stripper's guise
A nurse's uniform, a desperate surprise

But Jackie's fate is sealed, his time runs thin
Tony confesses, his emotions locked within
To Dr. Melfi, he pours out his heart
A glimpse of vulnerability, a rare work of art

Artie Buoco's troubles, a restaurant in flames
Arson suspected, insurance claims
A charity event, a catered affair
Carmela and Charmaine, friction in the air

Meadow's struggles, SATs and choir practice too
Hunter's suggestion, amphetamines to get through
Chris is reluctant, but Adriana persuades
A precarious position, in the mob's shady trades

Junior plots and schemes, Chris in his sights
Livia advises caution, but Junior takes flight
Hilel Teitelman's problem, a son-in-law astray
Tony sends Silvio and Paulie to make him pay

Torture and threats, castration on the line
Ariel refuses to buckle, until the end is divine
Denial, Anger, Acceptance , an episode so fine
James Gandolfini shines , as Tony faces his own decline

The Godfather-like ending , a mix of song and strife
Hunter and Meadow singing , as death cuts like a knife
The Sopranos' true potential , on full display tonight
A world of darkness , where mortality takes flight.
