A Better Life ( 2011 ) - An underrated beautiful film that will surely soften you up.

If you haven't seen this underrated drama film yet, you should really check it up. It's about a poor hard working mexican immigrant that tries to keep his adolescent son away from trouble. The movie is set in the east of Los Angeles, an exotic area full of criminal gangs. The hard life of the latino immigrants is very well displayed in this movie.

Carlos Galindo (Demián Bichir)  works very hard as a gardener and he tries to make a better life for his son, Luis. This adolescent boy is alread slipping into the wrong kind of life and he is tempted to join a gang. He dosen't connect at all with his father and he is at times ashamed by him. We talk about a typical teenage boy ashamed by living in poverty.

His father saves enough money to buy a truck and for some time, he tries to start his own business. However, his kidness will lead to someone taking advantage of him by stealing everything he worked for, stealing his dream. This damned situation will bring him and his son closely and they will try to do everything to regain that truck back. During their little trip, they share a lot of father and son moments, something they never did before.

The final scene is simply heart breaking. I am not going to spoil out everything for the people that haven't seen this beautiful movie yet. I will say only that all of us have something to learn from the ending. We should appreciate our parents more. Most of them worked very hard trying to make things better for us and we should never judge them for our own disappointments.

I will leave the trailer video here for everyone that wants to see this movie. I promise that you will not be dissapointed.
