Ocean's 12: weak sequel
While not out of this world, Ocean's 11 was good entertainment. I can't say the same for the sequel, Ocean's 12.
Some time after their heist, the Bellagio's owner goes back to "Ocean's 11" (how Danny named the heist, to his colleagues' dismay) to get his money back. But surprinsingly, he doesn't go full mafia... because he wants them to do other heists in Europe. But they will have some competition from French thieves.
11 was unrealistic, but I found the movie entertaining that had least has a clear goal. 12, on the other hand, is "stretching the sauce" to the point that it gets watery. It's a montage of short stories put together without much coherence. And the stories in themselves aren't very coherent. Why won't Europol arrest Ocean's 12 on the stop? Why did they try to make a complicated story about why the Bellagio's owner didn't arrest them and simply gave an ultimatum to Brad Pitt?
However, kudos to the humor, which was well-place. As I mentioned above, Danny Ocean named the heist "Ocean's 11", showing his narcicism. Also, kudos to the best (involuntary?) meta humor involving Julia Roberts' character (hence Ocean's 12) in a movie not meant to be funny. I won't talk much about what it is; but I certainly would LOVE to see the outakes.
In short, you won't miss much if you skip this movie. The aforementioned humor doesn't do much to redeem an incoherent story line and improbable happenings.
