Spider-Man Homecoming, 5 Reasons Why You Should See It

in #movies7 years ago (edited)

Spiderman Homecoming is about to hit the big screens in about 6 days. You can bet it's going to be one hell of a packed theater and rightfully so. This version of the wall-crawler offers many things we have yet to see in previous series. Without spoiling too much of the plot, here are 5 reasons why you should bust out your wallets and take the family for a drive. (While it wont contain major spoilers, Viewers beware! Minor spoilers ahead!)

5. MCU
This Web-Slinger is fundamentally different from all the previous depictions of him in many ways. Perhaps the biggest comes from the fact that he is no longer in his own universe. For the first time in movie history Spider-Man will be joining his fellow heroes on the big screen. This means you should expect a few cameos from some of your favorite Avengers, besides the obvious appearance of Tony Stark. This opens up unlimited possibilities for crossovers and future Avengers films. We only saw a piece of Peter in the Civil War film and boy did we love it.

4. Teenage Parker
For the first time ever we have a teenager playing a teenager. Shocking how we never thought of this advanced formula before. This version of Peter Parker will be focusing on Peter's teenage years while skipping the classic origin story. This is an excellent move from Marvel and Sony seeing as we have had two origin stories already in the past decade. The other great part of this means that we will be able to see them explore half of the comic books that were untold in the other franchises. Half of Peter's comics were with him in high school, and finally we have a film dedicated to that fact.

3. Unseen Villain
We have the new villain Vulture coming to the movies. Vulture is a classic villain in the Spider-Man comics, however we have never seen him on film before. This version seems to be using alien technology from the previous Avengers films, tying the movie even more firmly into the MCU. It's exciting to see such a classic villain get his time to shine. He's also a great one for Spider-Man to practice on and come to grips that being a hero isn't all fun. Peter is going to have his first true test of responsibility.

2. New Love
Peter is going to touch on his first High school crush in the comics, Liz Allen. We've seen all the rest, now its time for Peter's true first crush to come into play. Liz Allen is played by another young actress. This means that the whole main cast will be young and new faces. We will be able to see teens truly act like teens. This means so much for the franchise as a whole and I know Liz will be one of the central and best parts of the film.

1. Diversity
The film will future an actual representation of modern high school. This means having a fully diverse cast. Peter's best friend is Asian, and his crush is of African american decent. All of these different races means we are finally breaking an invisible barrier that held us back from showing other heroes and sidekicks in the film section that are of diversity. We are coming to an age that accepting the diversity in us showed we are stronger as a whole. It's about time we showed this on the big screen with our heroes.

These are 5 reasons you should be looking forward to the new Spidey film about to land. I have my wallet open and I sure hope you do as well. This is trying to be the best Spider-Man film of all time, and I really see this one reaching that level. There is little to stop this movie from becoming the best it can be.
