Abominable – Movie Review
This is such an adorable movie. Abominable came out in 2019 and is now available for streaming. If you're looking for a touching animated movie to watch alone or with your family you should totally give it a try. It is appropriate for children of all ages. Plus it is just a cute movie. I'm not crying, you're crying.
At first I was not really impressed when I saw the trailer and the voice actors as it seemed oriented towards China, but I was mistaken. Just like the Yeti, the movie was magical. The movie follows Yi, voiced by Chloe Bennet, a teenager who is an amazing violin player and she recently lost her father. She takes every job possible to save money to go on a trip that she was supposed to take with her father, but didn't get the chance. One day after a long day of many jobs she goes up to the roof to put her money away and play for herself and she finds a Yeti hiding on the roof of her building. He escaped capture and he is scared and wounded. Yeti is a magical snow monster. Yi decides to look after him and help to take him home. To Everest. Which also becomes his name.
The Yeti realizes that Yi is his friend. When the people who captured him find him, the Yeti escapes with Yi. While they run through the city, Yi's cousins, Peng who is still a kid and arrogant and shallow Jin, who have also found out about the existence of the Yeti go after them to try and save Yi. Soon they realize that Yi was not kidnaped and they agree to help Yi to take the Yeti back to his home.
While on their journey they have to escape evil scientists who want to run experiments on the rare animal, they need to deal with physical difficulties that the long journey includes and explore their beautiful country, learn how to be make new friends and learn how to be a family all over again.
It is an adorable movie and you should give it a try.
