'Goosebumps 2' Get New Release Date, Jack Black Potential Back
Sony Pictures has just changed the release date of the Goosebumps sequel. Originally set for September 21, 2018, Goosebumps 2 is now shifted to October 12, 2018. Thus, Goosebumps 2 will air on Halloween, and will compete with Neil Armstrong's biopic entitled First Man by Damien Chazelle ( La La Land ).
Along with the changes to this release date, there was news that Jack Black was again playing RL Stine in the upcoming movie. Although Black's involvement has not been confirmed, Black's return is indicated by the title change rumor in the sequel, from Goosebumps: Horrorland to Goosebumps: Slappy's Revenge . Incidentally, in addition to playing Stine, Black also filled Slappy's voice in the first film.
In addition to Black, there has been no further information whether the players from the first film also come back, such as Dylan Minnette (Zach) and Odeya Rush (Hannah Stine). What is clear, this sequel will be directed by Ari Sandel ( The Duff ), who replaces Rob Letterman ( Detective Pikachu ).
Meanwhile, the details of the Goosebumps 2 story are still unknown. However, if referring to the novel series, this film should still bring terror monsters and other supernatural beings in her comedy.
Although it has not set a filming schedule, Goosebumps 2 will be released to October 12, 2018.
