6 benefits of reading: why you should read every day

in #mspsteem7 years ago

Hello Steemit friends,

In today's post I will talk about books.

When did you read last time a book? If you are among those who do not have the good habit of reading regularly, you do not know what you're missing: reading has many benefits and here are some of them:

1. Improve memory

Books give you a variety of information that allows you to generate new ideas and develops your imagination and creativity. Studies show that continued stimulation of thinking slows down dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Like any muscle in the body, the brain must remain strong and healthy.

Every new thing memorized will create new synapses in the brain and strengthen the existing ones, which helps to strengthen memory in the short term and to stabilize mood. Amazing, right?

If you want to take a break from reading, you can stimulate your cognitive senses by playing chess or solving puzzles.

2. It shapes your personality

We are not born with personality, we build it in time and we polish it all our live according to the experiences we live in. Yes, there are sometimes experiences that shape us in the wrong direction. One way we can reshape our personality is through reading about diverse topics.

3. Reduces stress

No matter how much pressure is at work, in your personal or social life, everything is forgotten when you read a great novel. A well-written novel makes you relaxed and takes your thoughts in completely different places. All you need is a comfortable sofa and a good book that takes you to another dimension. Many people are actually tired of their problems, but do not forget that anytime a book can help you escape routinely.

4. It helps you find answers to your problems

When you read a book, you read it because something led you to read that book, more precisely, the subject of the book seemed exciting to you. Maybe you've been looking for some answers... You find new ideas that can help you in life, get answers to your problems, find solutions.

5. Develop your writing skills

Reading goes hand in hand with vocabulary expansion. If you work in a domain where you have to play with your phrases and words, books should not be missing out of your life. The more you read, the more varied your text is, avoid the repetition of the text, and especially you will be more creative.

6. You will focus better

We spend the day doing so many things. With the costly laptop in front of us, messages from friends, emails, Skype, sessions and a colleague who asks you to help him with another problem. Reading requires concentration, but you only do one thing. Many people, even if they want to, can not concentrate at all. Reading is a very good exercise and will help you learn how to focus better, you will see how your productivity increases.

Tip: read aloud if you want to improve your diction, pronunciation, focus, self-confidence and intonation.

Reading is extremely inportant . It should be practiced daily for cognitive improvent .am in love with this post

Couldn't have agreed more with this post!

I totally agree with this post. when im stressed i just read one of my favourite books or a new interesting book and it really helps. it also helps my writing and improves my perspectives on things especially when i read books with a diverse cast of characters.

Which is your favorite book?

well its pretty hard to choose one. right now im reading the binti trilogy by nnedi okorafor and i am loving it.

Point one got me thinking . I have proved it to be true. Most of my colleague in college who played chess and solved puzzles were usually performed better than others who only watch movies as their hobby

Indeed, we must train our memory, engage in various activities that require the brain in an entertaining and enjoyable way.

thanks alot for this informstion
