ADSactly Music Initiative #17

Hey everybody, hope you all had a fantastic week and made some really awesome music, and if making music ain't your thing, I hope you at least listened to some killer beats. This past Friday I had the pleasure of being a guest on the SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTIST show for the second time, on the PAL discord server, hosted by @d-vine, @onemedia and @darrenclaxton. It's always an honour to be invited and to spend some time with like minded folks, chatting about all things music on the blockchain. Be sure to tune in this Friday between 18:00pm - 20:00pm UTC, there might just be a nice surprise in store.

We would also like to again ask anyone to please drop some links of your own music or anyone else in the comments below, if you come across a great tune, be cool and share, or come post it in our ADSactly discord server in the music_initiative channel. Our aim with this initiative is to help support music orientated content from across the Steem blockchain, focusing on original content.

"The thing that will never go away is that connection you make with a band or a song where you're moved by the fact that it's real people making music. You make that human connection with a song like 'Let It Be' or 'Long and Winding Road' or a song like 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or 'Roxanne,' any of those songs. They sound like people making music." - Dave Grohl

Music Iniciative Elememnts.jpg

Introduction

We got together and decided we wanted to do something in the music space, as there are so many budding, talented musicians on the Steemit platform. We noticed that, although there were a lot of people posting, it felt like some of the contributors could use a little helping hand. I mean, who wouldn't want a little helping hand, right?
So where could WE add value? We could use our own in-house production people to help develop music for fellow Steemians looking for that little extra audio assistance.

We'll be running an initiative whereby Steemians can post their links below, and if the criteria are met (please read the criteria), we'll dig in with them and help mix their track, or add some instruments that they feel are missing from their song, or some little production techniques. If there isn't actually a post that our producer can work with, we might even just decide to give one of the entrants a bit of upvote love.

As time goes by and we put together enough collaborated content, we will then upload this content to digital stores (iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, etc.) and release a compilation album.
The other avenue where we would like to add value is to sync the music to commercials to try and develop some additional passive income for the artists.
Where will this go?
....Only time will tell!

How does it work?

  • Comment below with your Steemit post, DSound link or Soundcloud link (or another platform that you would prefer to use). Must be within 7 days of this post.
  • Upvote this post
  • Join the ADSactly Discord Community
  • Please try make sure you have independent audio files that we could actually work with in production
  • @ADSactly picks a winner (Please check back in the comments for this)
  • The winner receives a consultation over discord to discuss the direction moving forward on the track.
  • Our in-house producer does the work, sends it back to the winner, and they upload it to DSound with a guaranteed upvote from @ADSactly
  • We'll report back with the results in the following post so you, our followers, can keep track.

Disclaimer: Sometimes it might the case that out of all the entries, there isn't a post that can be worked with effectively; whether its due to a winner not getting back to us, or there being insufficient or inferior audio separates to work with. In this case we'll pick a song or track to show some love to.

Our Previous Winner

We’ve decided to give some upvote love to @alexworld for his submission. His track, which was inspired by the novel "Terror", by Dan Simmons, really gave us the feels on many levels. "Terror" is a mix of real history and a fantasy mystery. His musical versatility is astounding and you will be surprised at his range of different music genres, be sure to check out his content.

The track deepens majestically, making the listener feel as if they were on a viking voyage to conquer some far off village. The ominous bridge creates drama and a feeling of true terror. The track tugs on the emotional strings and stirs up feelings of adventure and trepidation and slowly ends off with a feeling of accomplishment.

Some truly emotional, solid songwriting is at hand here, people.

What an excellent piece! I think I would try not to put it at home at night. LOL. The whole piece is like a chase, as if we were running for our lives, while something is stalking us. The ending is great, it looks like blood drops at the end of the scene. I just went through the @alexworld blog and I think it has many interesting and beautiful pieces. I liked The Soul of the Piano: soft, melancholic, like these days in January. Anyway, it's great, like all the musicians you've presented here. This is an initiative that I love and that I value very much, @morkrock. Applause for the whole team.

Thanks for the comment and support you have a great imagination :) I 💖 music and I write it almost every day) Glad you liked it :)

You bring us back a wonderful piece, @morkrock. Along the melody you perceive an "obstinate" that accelerates the beating of the heart as when fleeing from a danger that lurks, suitable to accompany a scene of terror. It is evident the talent of @alexworld and deserves the recognition you do to share it in this initiative, thank you very much. And thanks, too, to @adsaclty for spreading it.

Super Thank You that you listened to me and for the feedback, I am always glad to write something new:)

It is an excellent musical work the one that presents us, @RossDabone and @MorlRock. My congratulations to @alexworld. I was captivated by that set of sounds with string instruments (perhaps violin, violoncello and double bass, I guess not electronic), that come in and out, in different tones, on that serious sound line that, like a spine, is maintained throughout the piece. You can experience that feeling of tension and even of shivering, typical of the horror experience. It could be said that it would have a cinematographic style. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks @p1eter for the mention, here is a link to a song on our first album. It's all done already though but feel free to give it listen. We have also brought out a second album and we are currently busy with our third album. We usually use Rogan Kelsey for mastering but would be interested in seeing your take on it. If we get approval from the entire band to post an pre master version we will make a new post. Until then we hope you enjoy this one off our first album (Dirty Deals) titled: Zight

I really enjoyed @alexworld's work, "The Terror". I appreciate and support any work that serves to project and as a platform for the talent at Steemit. It's a original piece with a captivating slow rhythm, with very good attractive effects. Thanks @adsactly for promoting this work.

Thanks for listening and support :) I really liked the series and the book and later, i wrote my own version of the soundtrack to it ;)

Thank you for coming & for giving us a feature with your mentioning!

It is always a pleasure having you @morkrock, we are looking forward to next time! <3
