Music Alphabet - E - End of the Line

in #music6 years ago (edited)

There were quite a few super groups in the history of popular music and one of the most impressive, both from the members and the music they created, is probably Travelling Wilburys.

Think about the amount of talent in a band that consist Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne! From such a group of musicians you don't expect for less than perfect. The good thing about Travelling Wilburys is that they actually delivered an excellent album Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1, released in 1988.

The second single from the album is "End of the Line". It starts with a catchy riff by George Harrison and becomes groovy and folkish, as we're used from the members of the band
While Bob Dylan sings only back vocals in this song, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison sing the choruses in turn and Tom Petty sings the verses.

Another interesting thing about the song is its video clip. Roy Orbison passed away a month and a half before the song was released as a single. To honor the loss, in the video you can see a rocking chair with Mr. Orbison guitar next to a photo of him.

Blimey, I haven't heard this in YEARS...
I had the CD at one point. No idea if it's around now. Very much of it's time - probably deserves another listen.
