'Waiting' A song about the final days of my father's life, written and performed by @ed-the-songster
For those who are unaware, my dad passed away last December and we spent the final days before he moved on from this plane on what they call 'death watch'- which is apt but rather harsh sounding.
My brother's song tells the story much better-
His dedication in this particular video is about a friend's father who recently passed- a friend that died in a car accident a number of years ago and just a few years after we lost our sister in the same way. These parallels in our lives have kept my brother in contact with Tristan (the friend)'s family, and I know he serves as a comfort to them.
For me death serves as a reminder to tell the ones we love just how much we love them. When all we have left of them is a memory, what that holds is directly dependent on what we built with them while they were here.
Tell someone you love how much they mean to you today!
Very beautiful and very touching song.
Thanks for sharing it.
I'm so glad you listened to it Linda. I love my brother, he has a gift for bringing out emotions :)
a beautiful song @dreemit , everyone should there tell family and friends how much there mean to you even if a little gesture x
<3 xoxo
The most important thing in world is family & love. In the blink of an eye, everything can change. So, forgive often & love with all of your heart. You may never know you may not have that chance again.
Indeed :)
Love ya for all that you are, my sis! Even though we're miles apart, the support that you provide defies distance. You are truly a bastion of passion and enthusiasm, and I'd be lucky if mine is half as yours. A loving wife, a caring mother and a dutiful daughter, you truly are the whole package!
@ed-the-songster always has a direct line to my heartstrings. How I miss him on the STEEM blockchain! I hope he and his family are doing well. Send my regards, sis!
Aw, I would say right back at you but then I'd be calling you a girl! Ha! Really though, love you infinity!!
I will definitely tell him. He's doing well- actually we're heading out with his family and some cousins for a long weekend in the Adirondacks this Friday :)
