Music Monday Ep. 4 [Ode To 1981 Pt. 2]
Welcome back, it's great to see you again ^.^
This week I learned what it's like to be utterly helpless (as an adult).
With a sprained wrist I could not so much as type with my dominant hand, let alone do my own dishes.
And it got me thinking...
What if I didn't have the things that I have, the skills that I have, the limbs that I have, the mental cognition that I have, the memories I've made, the people that I love?
Knowing the transitory nature of all things, why do I hold on so dearly to what already is?
If I lost these things, would I still be me?
As you contemplate the very threads of of your assumed existence, why don't you chill out and listen to some more tunes from 1981 that I so thoughtfully collected just for you?
So whaddya think? Are you an autonomous being, perhaps even the almighty creator of your own universe, unwavering in your you-ness?
Or are you a byproduct, either accidental or intentional, of the place and time that you happened to be popped into?
Do you get to choose who you are?
And if so, have you chosen yet?
Every Monday I will be serving up a fresh batch of music to broaden your universe, and if you like what you hear, you should upvote, resteem, follow me, and leave a comment with some of your favorite music, so that together we can reach the rest of the universe. Or not. The choice is always yours.

was so good. Looking forward to the rest.Personally this manifests as the desire to grow myself in all those dimensions as much as possible, in case any would fail... perhaps as a convenient escape of the question 😄
i'm an autonomous byproduct
Nice play sir!
Life would be less without music!
I like the music, especially the one called The Incredible Doggy by Barfo Barfi.
I remind myself not to think too hard about why I'm here, or not here and just enjoy as much as possible during the insignificant period of time I have been allotted.
Anything worth repeating has already been printed on a bumper sticker...
Baffo had a lot of interesting stuff to sort through, but I found that one song, just for you. I decided it was significant. Because of the insignificance of it all, I get to decide what is significant. And if the rest of the world doesn't agree with me on what I find significant, who cares?
I like the stuff with no words. Tyndall and Sauveur Mallia.
I guess this is what John Maus listens to?
I believe John Maus listens to Fergus Plinko if I'm not mistaken? I do enjoy me some good music without words. Sometimes lyrics can distract from the real message.
https://steemit.com/@godflesh/the-human-identity-as-an-object-of-interpretation would be a perfect follow up post to check out. This is, to a tee, the answer I would give to that question, in more precise words than I could have mustered.
