I was invited as a guest to the launch of a record label this evening, it's great to see people do new things...

The past two days have been quite busy for me, this evening I went to the launch of PAYNE Records. There was a self-serve bar and finger food; I still can't get over the self-serve, like, oh my days. If my friend and I didn't have our respective early starts tomorrow, we'd still be there drinking.

It is really inspiring to me to see the fruits of others' hard work, seeing the tangible of what had been two years in the making, strengthened my resolve in my commitment to my creative endeavours this year and beyond.

Being a launch, there was the possibility of a few hiccups, they did occur, there was an issue with the music, which my friend and I agreed could be down to the cable or the transfer of the audio files. In this intimate space, a young artist, the only artist on the PAYNE roster so far, handled the technical difficulties gracefully, despite the murmurs and head-holding in the audience.

When you see the early days of a project, it allows you cast a discerning eye over the situation at hand, although things could've been much smoother, in terms of the presentations and performance. The bringing together of numerous heavyweight sponsors, caterers and people from an array of industries is a testament to the vision Miguel has brought forth into 2018.

I want to work at PAYNE now to be honest, the bar is a pull factor, I won't lie. Though as a music fan and someone who enjoys live music performances, PAYNE Records dedication to finding and support new artists is something I'd like to be a part of in the not to distant future
