Steel Woods

Today, I’m going to write about one of my Favorite Musical Groups. The name of their band is the Steel Woods. They are an American Country group who play Southern Rock.

I started listening to them when my friend Joe introduced me to their music. They are from Nashville, Tennessee. They are a quartet with four members. It started with Wes Bayliss and Jason Cope meeting at a Nashville gig and becoming friends. They started making music after they took fishing trips together. They then added bassist Johnny Stanton and Drummer Jay Tooke . Their album Straw In The Wind was released in May of 2017. Some of the songs on the album are Axe, Let the Rain Come Down, Better In the Fall, Whatever It Means To You, Hole In the Sky, and Della Jane’s Heart.

Influences on their style of music are Led Zepplin, Metallica, Darrell Scott and Jason Isbell. I enjoy listing to their Music because it's country music and I like country music. They opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd in St. Louis this past August.
