Tales from your Uber Driver #1

I’ve been known to dabble in the art of Uber/Lyft driving on and off the past 2 years. I’ve had some interesting things happen to me and I thought why not share them on the blockchain network. So here is my series.

Story 1- “I would sign you”

In March of 2018, I was doing my daily hours I like to put in. As a Music Artist, I always create a playlist of top 40 songs and Add my original music between the tracks. I picked up a gentleman in jeans and T-shirt somewhere in Culver City and was driving him to Beverly Hills. I pressed play and let the music shuffle thru. In the middle of the ride 3 of my songs played back to back. (Fancy, Bed of Roses, and How far) Half way thru the 3rd song and guy says, “who is this? I love her voice.” I tell him with a shy voice “oh that’s Veronica Cooper. She is one of my favorite artist”. He goes on to talk about how he works in a music label Office and how he loves discovering new and upcoming artist. By the end of the trip, I finally had the courage to tell him that the music he spoke about was me. He laughed and said, “ I was wondering because when I looked her up you favored her. I started to think that maybe you were just related.” We laughed and I handed him my business card. He got out the car and said, “I would sign you if I owned my own label. I’m going to share your music in the office. Stay positive and keep pushing you got a unique sound and I see a future for you.” He handed me $20 as a tip and walked away. Fast forward 3 months I was reached out, had a meeting, and was offered distribution deal....

This is definitely the most life changing experience.
