The best album this year so far

Psychopomp is an experimental album from Japanese Breakfast, a solo moniker from Michelle Zauner of Little Big League fame. Inspired her experience during her mother's illness and death, Psychochomp is a melancholic ride that takes over your senses and leaves you asking for more.

At 25 minutes and 11 seconds Psychochomp is short, but if anything it only enhances its impact on you. If this album were a movie, it'd be in the coming-of-age genre like The Perks of Being a Wallflower or The Breakfast Club.

Track two, The Woman Who Loves You, is my favourite. It begins soft before the beat picks up and you feel the rhythm. You'll be humming this for days.
