A song for the hopeless that most social networks block speaking aboutsteemCreated with Sketch.

Hey Steemers,

I wanted to post this here, since every major social media platform actively blocks any posts talking about depression or suicide. This video may end up getting my account shadowbanned, even, which I'm ok with. I wrote this song from a place of despair, and through writing, found hope. My hope is that others can find hope through it, even if it merely shows them they're not alone in feeling that way. I'll just copy and paste what I wrote on youtube below.

Wow, what to say about this one. I wrote it to a beautiful track by The Starters, at a low point in my life mentally and though I didn’t actually consider taking my own life an option, I, for the first time in my life could feel how someone could get to that point. And that was two years before Covid-19 hit the world like a wrecking ball. I think I saw somewhere that 50% of the US population says they're depressed now.

I’ve had this song heavily weighing on my heart to release and though a full production version will one day made, It feels cathartic and powerful to sing it live with just me and the piano(tho I wish my keys were quieter) If you’ve ever been low and felt similar things, please be brave and share it with someone. Even strangers can be your guardian angels. I’m happily surprised at how compassionate people can be in youtube comments or Reddit etc. it’s not all haters; they just get the most attention.

If you’d like to sing a version of this song, here are the chords and lyrics I mapped out using the Tabs app. If you record a video leave a link in this video’s comments section. - https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/j-rice/you-got-me-chords-3271328

Thank you to the remaining few of you who manage to still see my videos and show support. You are not taken for granted.
