Discover Vaporwave™
If you've not heard about Vaporwave before, then you're missing out on a worldwide music phenomenon. I've written about it here about a year ago, but it's just long-winded romanticism. In short, I'd say they're beautiful, hyper-contextualised music. Basically meme music, which is perfect for endless organic discovery. I can't remember when was the last time I repeated a track more than twice - bedroom musicians all over the world are just pumping out good vaporwave non-stop! If cryptocurrency is magic internet money, then Vaporwave is magic internet music.
I am a vaporwave artist, going to be posting more of my original content here as opposed to Facebook / Tumblr. Making internet money on Steemit is pretty vaporwave. Now if I could only get my 5000 followers on here....

Have you written any vaporwave for noobs tutorial before? I think it could score well on google search rankings.. i think the fun about vaporwave (maybe moreso than any other kind of music) is to showcase how one approaches their track / album. It's all about sharing afterall..

There are community features rolling out, and I wanna have more vaporwave artists trying Steemit out. Most of the times we make nothing anyway lol!
Yeah, I'm very interested. I used to run a vaporwave community of about 3000 people, it was kind of like a facebook clone, but the server costs / maintenance got too big for just me to handle. I would love to take my existing infrastructure and integrate it on the steem blockchain.
Don't think the Steem blockchain can accomodate media, it's too bloated so the content would merely be links, not content. But I'm sure there are complementary solutions. Recently I've heard about LBRY (another coin, for media content). @heymattsokol is using both Steem and LBRY.
As for Vaporwave and Steem vote, don't you think they're made for each other? xD

as far as hosting music content on steem, honestly there isn't a great option right now. I can theorycraft a way to make it work with LBRY and Steem together:
Once LBRY is in open beta, it would be possible to host all the content on LBRY as audio files and then integrate them into a streaming music app. This could tie into Kevin's idea of an upvote-for-access scheme.
In the front end it would be: You click the upvote button and the song starts playing.
In the back end it would be: The app waits for the upvote, then requests the content from LBRY and plays it for the user.
That would work and the user would not need any LBRY tokens or wallet.
I've been looking into LBRY but can't figure out the right windows syntax to get a wallet, so far no one in the slack has been able to help me out. Just gotta wait for the public launch I guess.

I didn't watch a LOT of TV, but what I did watch I was pretty selective about, I got bored really easily. I was typically always on a computer instead.
I got pretty into Japanese anime stuff as a kid, mainly stuff like Vampire Hunter D, Akira, ShadowSkill, stuff like that that I probably shouldn't have watched as a kid.

wait recalling, I think I actually first knew about this genre by a steem post, not yours but one I read in october last year, since then I haven't stopped, seriously. The first one I remember hearing was the whole floral shop album by macintosh plus, then one I highly recommend is all the music form "home" my fav track is 'pixys'

and being honest, as a musician, and artist is just so cool that they mix up everything I like, like old fashioned anime, greek/roman beauty art aesthetic, samples and futuristic tunes with synth, and videogames from childhood.

This is very interesting and new to me! I've never heard of Vaporwave, but the first few minutes and I'm already like damn this is cool! Thanks for introducing me to it, I'm sure I could listen to this during long drives! :D I have just started a new series on Steemit called A Song A Day, so I can share more music here. Steemit needs more music!
