Eye on Artists Jimi Hendrix
Today we will discuss another artists I was big into when learn guitar: Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix widely thought of as one of the greatest guitarists of all times is amazing and introduced a different more energetic guitar soloing style.
Hendrix not only made originals but also covered popular songs from his contemporaries like "All Along the Watchtower" originally written by Bob Dylan
Hendrix also had song about women like "Foxy Lady" and "Dolly Dager"
Jimi also discussed "Freedom" which is also an amazing song.
Perhaps his best known song is "Purple Haze" possibly about some smoke, it starts with oscillating octives
My favorite Hendrix song is " I don't live today" perhaps for how I have chosen to not live totally at points in my life.
Hendrix was an American original and a true innovator on the guitar. He was very much ahead of his time. Such a shame that he passed at such a young age. I would have loved to have seen him jam with other legendary guitarists like Clapton, Beck, Gibbons and Van Halen.
Yea would be great if he had gotten old and grey, but maybe would have realeased some bad music, but probably would have kept innovating
where is the original version?its not here on youtube, what a waste :(
Not sure, sorry, hopefully it surfaces soon!!
Hendrix - appreciation grows when considering how he blazed a path so many greats have followed and they cut new paths to other great musial destinations.
Yea, amazing licks, hope it's going well!!
