Stradivarius found.
Three days into steem and I get sidetracked. The plan was to write every day and improve on my writing. I first must understand this platform. I don't get it. Regardless of how to use Steem I will share this. My dad died last month ... It kind of shit kicked me, I quit my band, cut off my phone and left my job.
Out of all the possessions he left one of unknown value A STRADIVARIOUS violin. Wtf!!! This is stuff of legends.... So after admiring the craftsmanship, the wood, the f holes, the amazing shape. I put it back into its wooden red velvet and paper lined case. It captivated me. Is it real?
Off to Google land. Many copies of this violin were made. So I first asked about the history. It was uncle Hanks... Of course he is the Uncle I never knew... Met possibly twice.
What do we know about Hank. He was a collector. One thing I remember is when Hank died 1977(?) There were some items given to the kids.... A pocket watch, books and some tractor toys... The name is escaping me. Green and yellow..... John Deer . The books were about gold mining and some 50's books about UFO's odd... Other books were some Masonic stuff that his brother wanted. I don't know if he got them or they went back to the creepy looking church they came from.
Yes he was one of them. He was involved and the Grand Pooba gave him the Violin at some service. The worshipful master... Everyone is dead now, I don't know how to confirm or dispute. Then my Dad got it and it sat in a closet for 30-40 years.
I do remember hearing there was a repair on it and you can see a different grain of wood where this took place.
So the first thing I look for is the label .... Yes, the real looking thing. His full name, where he lived and the date of 1723 with a stamp of the Maltese Cross on fiber tag.... And it's the right colour.
Fuck Ya!!! I just won the lottery. Of course it could be the SEARS model... Sears counterfeited these in the 1800... The Limey bastards.... So I tried calling Sears . That was laughable ... At one point I said, look just get me the oldest employee working. I wish to chat. They went with it... I got to speak with Gearald you could hear the old a retired marketer. So a couple of things mentioned....
Some laws and acts . Things were funny because Canada wasn't a country... An Inc. America didn't even really exist. Every Sears model would have said a country of origin. This does not only the town in Italy. Then he mentioned something which to those paying attention is a big deal. After ww2 concert pitch changed. From the harmonious earth resonating a-432 to the destructive 440. 😄 of course this is woo (James Randi term) please investigate this for yourself as a musician and an unslaveable there is MORE to this.
I have contacted some luthiers and they are saying it is most likely counterfeit. They can test the wood for the magic varnish of pine rosin, lead, copper, boron and whatever else.
The true gift is the life it brings. Listening to the STRADIVARIOUS legend and listening to the playing.
Quotes such as they are living relics to be owned and passed on. Even if it is a fake. I hold it and turn it over looking at the design the quality of the grain. It so flipping cool.
It reminds me to strive to be a better writer, person everything.... I mean I am writing this on an iPhone 4. I know the designer of Steem never thought of function for me. Why not? It the entire world. Some kid in Africa may have a pentium 3. He is an AUTHENTIC user. Let's build this for all. Look right now I am worth about 17 bucks. Ten bucks in my pocket and worth 7 on Steemit. Lol. We got to do better. Do it for STRADIVARIOUS and pops!!! This is Bach.
Nice @marco555
Shot you an Upvote :)
Shit I had more but it did not save :( I went on and on... Talked about counterfeiting and what STRADIVARIOUS means to Steemit. It did not save.
