GLASTONBURY DAY 2 - Radiohead, Lorde, Angel Olsen, Charli XCX
Glastonbury Day 2
Day 2 of the festival started by getting up from sleeping on a pillow made out of my unwashed clothes from the past day. I had about four hours sleep then went directly to get a Juice, cook some rice on my bizarre fire-lighter contraption, and go and watch Charli XCX.
Her set was mainly full of her hits, and she shouted "Lets get fucked" in between songs, there was this great atmosphere to her gig everyone seemed so happy.

Directly after seeing Napalm Death this was quite a strange thing to listen to, i felt as if i was expecting blast beats and 5 second songs.
Lorde walked onto stage with an omniscient presence, being overlooked by a giant transparent box towering behind her. Dancers lept from side to side in the box and played out theatrical routines, of which Lorde eventually joined. It was an amazing performance but i had to leave directly after my favourite song of hers "Liability" a classic pop ballad.

Sprinting through the dust to see Radiohead, Dust in my eyes, the heat from the sun was especially hot today.
Just in time i managed to see the first song. Radiohead's set was bizarre, playing mostly experimental songs that the majority of the crowd had never heard. Instead of playing tracks off The Bends, they played through weird areas of their back catalogue.
But the atmosphere they created was undeniably magical. The screens were almost turned into art installations, unable to see what was happening on stage from far away.
This has to have been one of the most spectacular musical moments i have experienced. Towards the end of the set to top it off, they played through a bunch of their hits, my main highlight being "No Surprises" off "OK Computer". Triggering a "Ooooh Jeremy Corbyn" chant once again and one of Radiohead saying "Theresa shut the door on your way out".

In the evening i went to the vintage car cinema "Cinemarmageddon" to watch the insane film "Holy Mountain". I love this film but after a day of music and drinking and feeling very tired, it's incredibly confusing.
You sit in these old vintage cars and they give a speaker for the screen, and you watch through the car on the huge outdoor cinema screen. It was pretty amazing.
That was Day 2, fucking amazing festival, there's plenty i've missed out, but FUCK it's such a good festival.
