4:44 Jay-Z
When Jay-Z’s 4:44 came out I didn’t really listen to it. I tended to on listen to the popular song, The Story Of O.J. I never really realized that the other songs on this album were actually really good. I’m going to do a full review of this album but I’ll review my three favorite songs.
4:44 is a great song, the beginning with the woman singing is spectacular and that he drags her voice throughout the song is awesome. Jay-Z talks about how he met his love and that he did a lot of things wrong to her and that he is sorry. He talks about a very touchy subject which is stillborns but he executed the subject well. He also apologizes to all the women who he curved and led on. Overall the message is strong and clear that he is sorry. Overall rating is 9/10
Kill Jay-Z is about his old self. It’s about how he changed in a good way and a bad way, he talks about how he used to sell drugs. It’s a pretty short song but it is very good and well rapped m. Overall rating is 8/10
Smile is an awesome song, it’s so positive and happy. The one part that really stands out is when he talks about his mother having four kids but being lesbian. Then he says that she is happy and has a partner for herself. He talks about how he came up from nothing amd now has millions, similar to HUMBLE. by Kendrick Lamar. Overall this song is very uplifting and happy. I give this song a 9/10
