RHYTHM IN MUSIC

in #music7 years ago

Okay! ever heard a song sang or played without timing and arrangement?, how did it sound? Like a noise scattered out of place like a child's cry or was it a nuisance?.

I'm not sure there's ever been a beautiful piece of music written recorded without rhythm because rhythm is a necessity for any work of music.

By definition, rhythm is the arrangement of sounds as they move through time. This arrangement is marked by a regulated succession of strong and weak elements or of opposite or different condition (Wikipedia). Looking at the definition, you'll realise that rhythm has everything to do with time on the succession of high (strong) and low (weak) notes/ keys/ tempo.

The truth still remains that the beauty of any good music partly and greatly lies in it's rhythmic arrangements. It is rhythm you discover a melodic sound not only pleasing to the ear but also one as strong as the compelling spell of an enchantress. Doubting? That tragic sensation in music or in movie when music is played in a scene that makes you want to cry is the effect of rhythm. The way the song goes, the bends and straights, it meander, that slow and fast movement, the moderato, crescendo, diminuendo, and allegro, it takes all unite to modify the piece.

The effects of rhythm include the distinct between tribes; even if three tribes or nations were to use the same lyrics in their anthem, the rhythm will always distinguish them apart. The sound produced when the rhythm and every other component that make a piece will always tell each tribe and thus confusion would be lessened because each tribe would be juxtaposed by it's rhythm.

Rhythm makes a strong/weak, fast and slow element in music creating apart each stanzas in the song so you'll know when to bend and when to go on straight but each in a successive pattern.
The romantic sensation, the bitter, the forceful that sends the message of war, the angry, the joyful are all products of rhythm. Rhythm when applied in music or poetry is a very beautiful component you can't exempt if you wish to have a lovely piece of work.

Also, enjoy this...
