RE: “Route 66,” covered by The Brian Setzer Orchestra … (Rhythm ‘n’ Blues / Jazz – Music to Your Ears, Covers–34)
When I was a kid in the 1950's we would go from Hayward Ca down 99 to BAkersfield then to Barstow,Ca. Then we would pick up "Route 66" and go through Needles, Ca. then up through Oatman, Az (where they have the wild burros that wander through town) New Mexico, Texas where we turned left, went up through Oaklahoma into Kansas. Those were the best of Times!!
Cool. I'm from Canada, and would have liked to take the highway west, but never did. All I can do is live that trip vicariously, thru about 20 different renditions of this fine little tune.
Hope you have more good times, now and in the days to come!
