Tom Brislin - "Your Favorite Day" original song about Summer memories at the Jersey Shore
Here's a song from my album Hurry Up and Smell the Roses called "Your Favorite Day". This song is about my fond memories of summers at the New Jersey shore. Spoiler alert: The memories are nothing like that stupid TV show.
getting away from a place gives you a good point of view
I tend to reflect on my home and my past when I'm somewhere else. I wrote the music for this song first (as it usually goes with me); the main piano part was written while I was playing piano at a college dance rehearsal room in Oakland, California (why I was there is a story for another time).
I wrote the lyrics during my time in Nashville when I was getting into the practice of object writing. I go into more detail about object writing in this post:

I wanted to express the memories as they appeal to each of the senses. I think I touched on most of them.
Please enjoy!

great post! i'm into 60's and 70's
Very well-produced, and I especially like the keyboards and piano in this piece! You really nailed the feeling of being at a place - it reminded me of how I felt at Disney World.
nice post
