Sundried Opossum @ Lockn

in #music6 years ago

I've known these guys forever, it seems like, ever since they played on a local TV show my friends and I had in high school in rural Virginia in the 90's. We all worked at a super-small time (now defunct) station that played whatever off-brand and ancient shows the could get for next-to-nothing, and so they let us have our own live show, where we would do sketches, have callers and feature local bands. It was pretty dumb, but also a lot of fun... one of the guys, Dean Hurley, went on to work for David Lync and has put out some pretty great albums.

Anyways, Sundried has been playing a looong time, and last year they got to share the stage with the likes of Phil Lesh, Widespread Panic, String Cheese, Gov't Mule and the Revivalists at the Lock'n Festival after winning a battle of the bands contest. I'd say they really deserved it, after all the hard work they have put in over the years!
