I do think it says something about the state of rock. Not to say that it is bad, but tours and festivals like this were built on the underground feel of the the artists that were being presented. You were a part of something that was cutting edge and counter to what what being fed to us on the radio. Knowing NOFX was kind of a litmus test of your musical coolness. The proliferation of Youtube has diminished that "college radio" experiment feel of non main stream rock bands.

I also think it is good that Warped is going away. Sometimes we need start over. Warped was a reaction to what was going on at the time musically, we need room for a new reaction to occur.

It stopped being cool when they brought in loads of Christian hair metalcore, and marine recruitment tables.
