What was your favourite concert till now? Let me know!

in #music7 years ago

Hi Steemians,

my girl invited a friend and i need to hide from these continuous talking like "Have you heard of 'any womans name' and what she did?!" in the bedroom. They captured the living room with our loved PS4 and the TV... that was a hard loss. But I won the fight for the laptop haHA!
Babe, when you read this later... volim te lijepa zeno :*

So these are the hard facts about my decision to write a post now while drinking a beer on my unexpected defeat. Yes, that's what Germans do in every circumstance! Beer! From the age of 16 on!
Ok just kidding... actually from the age of 14 on. Welcome to Germany! :D

But let's come back to the question:

What was your favourite concert or live experience until now?

This could be anything. Your favourite band/DJ/marching band - whatever you want! :)

I need to use an external image cause i would never shoot such high quality photos during a concert -->Source

For me it was Rammstein when i saw them live in Italy some years ago on a Thursday evening. Yeah i know, very stereotype. "A beer drinking German guy loves Rammstein - never would have thought that". But it was not just a great show. It was one of those experiences i'll never forget. A friend and me started directly after work on this Thursday and we arrived in Italy perfect in time for the concert. Supporting act was Volbeat and main act of course Rammstein. We drove back to Germany right after the concert and we arrived Friday morning at the office on time. We looked like zombies but it was worth it.

So let me know your favourite live act! Famous or local!
I'd love some feedback :)

Greetings

Mine is a little bit of a weird one, but it was back in the early 1980's when South Africa had all kinds of boycotts because of Apartheid. Live acts never came to South Africa.... then one day my friend said he had some tickets to a live concert at the Colloseum theatre in Johannesburg. Imagine what a shock I got when I found out that it was Champion Jack Dupreez... an old black blues singer...The irony of it all..a snow white audience and the man opens with 'Lord all I want is Freedom'. That concert I loved every moment of it and my entire outlook on life changed that night. Thank you Jack !!

Great story man! Can't imagine what a feeling it was that time but this is surely a great example of how powerful music is and how it can influence our hearts :)
Thank you for sharing this experience

My daughter went to see Foo Fighters last night, so I have been hearing about that concert today, but I think my favorite was traveling to Munich to see Cher on my 50th birthday.

Foo Fighters are on my list too - how does she liked them live?
Also nice one! Where are you from? :)

I'm in the USA in Wisconsin. My daughter first saw Foo Fighters in a small theater in Madison WI in May of 1995. She was 15 yrs. old and the first album was 2 months old. She loved seeing them last night with the spectacular set, and amazing lighting.

Cool, so nice to hear that you have some nice memories of Germany :)
Glad to hear they haven't lost their fire and that she still recommend them!

I would have to say my favorite was the Hank Williams Jr concert I went to in Okinawa back in 1984, even though they made us take off our shoes because the floor was padded. I did get the bow that he threw out in the audience and still have it to this day.

It was required to take off the shoes? Wouldn't expect this for country-music :)
I appreciate you still have it! sometimes the wrong people get it who do not cherish what they got and throw it away...

Yeah, it surprised everyone when they showed up and we all had to take our shoes off. At least we got to keep our socks on. The floor was nice and padded and it was pretty soft. We didn't get to make as much noise as we wanted though.

Haha, anyway a special experience :) thanks for sharing

id always say its Laibach, at Petrovaradin castle, 2007 or 8

totally unexpected.

if i remember good, there was Apocalyptica on that stage after them, as headliner, but Laibach stole the show completely. Poor Apocalyptica sounded amateurish after them.

also, Ritam Nereda, 1997, Banjaluka. or it was 98.. shit.. im old.

Haha, Apocalyptica may also wondered what happened that day. Need to check out both bands later, thank you!

Girlfriend here, ritam nereda is awesome :)

i dont know if they still are, i never heard their last couple of albums, but back in a time, they were few classes above all, especially live :)

I meant back then, too. Didn't follow the new stuff that much. Is your nickname inspired by Pirates of the Carribean?

by MIG 31, soviet aircraft .)

Oh yeah I think Rammstein have a great live show :)
Hmmm... It's hard to tell which band I enjoyed the most.
But I think one of my all time favorite live bands is Callejon.
But I enjoyed Architects a bit more. They give so much energy to the crowd.
I also love the small bands and locations as well :)

Hopefully someday i will see Callejon too :) Can't wait to check out the next unknown band together with you!

Yeah you know, that they are playing in Stuttgart in March?

I also can't wait to check out a new band with you two :)

As far as crazy concerts go, I would have to say that Psychic TV in L.A was a pretty crazy show. I also had a lot of fun seeing Die Antword in Portland OR, a few years back.

honestly we first had to check what Psychic TV is, haha. Can't imagine how a show of them could be, how was it? What made it a crazy show?
The Antwoord are really pretty cool and crazy, their show is surely worth to see!

The Psychic TV show was realativly small. There were a lot of half naked people including the singer who was showering the audience with mystery liquid. So everyone got pretty wet. Then people started lighting fireworks off inside the building while the band was playing. It was very hedonistic.

hahahha ok now I see why it was crazy!! pretty cool :)
