Music Monday (feel free to add your own track)

The aim is simple, to banish those Monday blues with an eclectic range of music chosen by Steemit friends both old and new.

Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture its true essence.

As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

Hope everyone is well and has enjoyed a really good week? This week, I thought I'd go for a track from the excellent Dolly Rocker Movement. They're an underground band and have many hidden gems within their eclectic soundscapes. They're named after a Syd Barret (Pink Floyd) track so you can see where they derive their 60's stylisation from. Anyway I thought this was the perfect track to ease myself into the evening, but see what you think. I hope you enjoy!

I can't say The Dolly Rocker Movement did it for me atall atall and I had to revive myself with some Generation X;)

Ha, you can't beat a spot of the Dolly Rockers ;) Ah Genearion X .. Billy Idol! I remember I used to have this one on tape when I was a child .. actually really young and used to have it blaring out in my room. Whilst most children were listening to pop I was blasting out punk and heavy metal .. I had an uncle with great music taste .. and this one has some great memories interwoven with it! Thank you for the music my friend!

Yeah your pick this week was a bit rough for me. Any other time maybe not so much but I instantly thought about my sister who passed away last Friday. From a young age early on I thought she felt the only way to get men's attention was stripping. She worked in a strip club, later though she met the clubs owner's nephew and she settled down for a number of years being married to him. I'll spare the dreadful details of her marriage falling apart but she picked up the pieces rather well and carried herself rather well while raising her children in a predominately good area. Then she got a bone disease and found it difficult to work, something I've often contributed to the fact she cleaned houses for the rich and having her hands immersed in so many cleaners and inhaling to many cleaning aerosols. Eventually she went to online stripping, always trying to get the attention she so desperately couldn't find otherwise but it never did amount to what her other income was and she eventually lost everything. She fell, hit her head, had a seizure, when they got her to the hospital she went into cardiac arrest and they couldn't revive her. So, ya, that one was a bit rough this week.

So this week I found two songs on the radio I've never heard before. I am a radio flipper, lol, my kids if they are riding with me hate it cause they never know from one minute to the next what rhythm/ tune is going to catch my attention and they'll end up listening to. But I am like that, don't like it I am on to flipping stations until I find something that catches my taste buds. I don't know, I guess you could also call it playing musical stations instead of musical chairs...lol.

This weeks unheard of picks were:

Jason Aldean: Rearview Town

Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals: Steal My Kisses

Ironically after typing that I just realized that your pick and my last song there were about as polar opposite as my and sister and I. Weird how that worked out.

Hi @sunlit .. very sorry to hear about your sister, my thoughts are with you and your family. After extensively researching the subject; I now make my own natural household cleaning products, so am we aware of the dangers of branded sprays, polishes etc etc. In relation to the video, I knew the song so actually posted without watching the video .. although from watching it back I would say that it contained more elements of burlesque than stripping, that said I very much understand and respect your point.

I Really enjoyed both your choices this week .. the first one powerful and emotive, and the second a great fusion of sounds from talented artists. Thank you for the music @sunlit

hey my friend, thank you as always for the music, for bringing us together most mondays, I have been somewhat forgetful of late and super busy,
Here is my offering a very mellow experimental number by one of my favourite bands, I do hope you enjoy it xxxx

Hello my friend .. no problem at all, and equally I know exactly how busy life can be ..mine is currently at a hundred miles per hour, blink and you'll miss it. :) Always great to hear a song chosen by your good self! I saved this one just before my bedtime and I'm really glad I did .. a beautiful ethereal sound that transports you to the land of dreams. Thank you for the music @trucklife-family .. I really enjoyed this one!

Proper musicians - anything but stripped down though;) Sorry to be late.

Hello @ricia .. I hope you've been well my friend? I should have another big post coming in the next week or two, one more after that .. and then its time to fully focus upon my book. A really excellent choice this week, such a powerful song .. of its time and yet equally, timeless!! Thank you for sharing and thank you for the music .. this one was an absolute pleasure :)
