7-Day Wayback Music Challenge - Day 2

7-Day Wayback Music Challenge - Day 2 - Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

I thought this would be a little difficult and then I realized, fuck, I know the perfect song and it should have been my #1 choice, but I saw high school and it was hair band all the way. That is the reason I picked Bon Jovi first, they are the definition of hair band, lol.

Queen is my first choice ever, they were the ultimate definition of great music. The are legendary for one reason Freddie Mercury. There will never be another writer, singer, performer that will ever top him.

Queen for me was my solace, my independence, my definition of myself. Queen was my solace, in the fact that it let me escape my house, my life. I could be great when I sang, because I could hit all the notes he did. I could dance it out with him. My independence and definition, meaning I did not have to like just what my friends liked or what was popular. I could step outside of that and be me, my own person. In high school this is a very hard lesson to learn. One lesson that I learned well and saved me a lot of jail time :)

Queen is still blasted in my house, car, anywhere; unlike Bon Jovi. All my children know all the words to all the songs, they scream sing it, dance to it, it is some of the best memories. My granddaughter's favorite song is Bohemian Rhapody, which made me cry when she told me. She knows all the words. Yay, another generation to carry our traditions on :)

Best Lyrics Ever........

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Defines my life.........

Also, speaking of Bohemian Rhapsody have you seen this little gem yet?

Yes, I hate the muppets! I think I am the only one on the planet, but yup :(

I'm not a huge fan, either, but I've always got a kick out of this cover for some reason. :)

    I will tomorrow, promise :)
