General Aung San Museum to show case significant items marking 70th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day

Arrangements are being made to showcase various objects under the special display at General Aung San Museum in Yangon on the 70th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day which falls on 19 July 2017, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.

The museum will be temporarily closed from 10 to 18 July for displaying the special shows. The special shows will be opened from 8:30 AM to 4:20 PM during the period from 19 to 23 July for enabling local and foreign visitors to enjoy the shows free of charge.
The speeches delivered by General Aung San will be put on display at the museum. About 70 items of speeches will be shown on about 20 boards.
Significantly, toys and clothes used by U Aung San Lin and Daw Aung San Su Kyi in their childhood will be showcased upstairs of the house.
This year, plans were set to carry out ten kinds of regular maintenance tasks have been completed and five remaining tasks are underway.
On 3 July, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko inspected preparations for observing the 70th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Bahan Township and silicon statue of General Aung San, documentary photos and utensils being displayed at the General Aung San Museum.
