I miss my childhood (poem)

Oh, how I miss my childhood days,
Those carefree times, in so many ways,
Where life was simple, and worries few,
And every moment was bright and new.

I miss the games we used to play,
The laughter that filled each passing day,
The warmth of family and friends around,
And the safety and comfort we always found.

I miss the endless summer afternoons,
Playing in parks and chasing balloons,
The ice cream trucks and lemonade stands,
And the joy of holding my mother’s hand.

I miss the snow days and sledding hills,
Making snowmen and taking spills,
Hot cocoa and blankets by the fire,
And the peace that came with that familiar desire.

Oh, how I wish I could go back in time,
To those days that now seem so sublime,
To relive those moments once again,
And feel that carefree spirit within.

But alas, time moves forward, never back,
And childhood memories begin to fade to black,
But still, I hold onto them with all my might,
For they will forever shine bright in my sight.
