Real Mystery Ship-Feeding Gas Ship (Kuphus Polythalamia)
Mystery worm vessel feeding hydrogen sulphide gas (Kuphus polythalamia, giant Shipworm) missed already. For more than 200 years scientists are still searching for its existence. None of them managed to find the shipworm alive in its habitat.
Until the year 2016 yesterday, Daniel Distel, Ph.D. a researcher from Northeastern University has been doing scientific research into Mindanao, Philippines. Armed with a Youtube video recording, Daniel had asked about the strange phenomenon of the Kuphus polythalamia shipworm to local local scientists.
Then Daniel gets a clue about the strange worm location that can grow up to 1.5 meters and finally he managed to find a shipworm still intact living in a hinterland of Mindanao, Maluku Besar, the second largest island in the Philippines.
Daniel and his team managed to get 5 samples of these strange creatures, his body was covered with a shell of calcium carbonate with a length of 1 to 1.5 meters. They then peeled calcareous tubes, and it turns out soft parts that resemble soft tissue inside the lime skin is a peculiar worm of Kuphus polythalamia.
I think they eat that worm...upvoted and followed
