Death in the Long Hallway

He was calmly walking in the direction of his home, he lived in one of these superblocks, these buildings that have many floors and that are very large, have very long corridors, corridors that can easily be around 50 meters long up to 100 meters and in which there are a fairly large number of rooms. These are superblocks, buildings built by the government so that people could be housed, people who were generally victims of migration, were victims of poor people with very few resources, the government provided them with these apartments.

Julián, our protagonist, was walking through one of these corridors since in these buildings the elevator only separates every certain number of floors and his apartment was practically in the heart of this building right in the middle, on the 12th floor was the stop of this elevator and our protagonist lived on the 13th floor, so he began to walk the long way from the elevator to the next staircase that would take him to the floor where his home was.

Just before reaching the stairs, he saw the door of one of these apartments that was mysteriously open, it was something quite strange because during daylight hours in these super-buildings people kept their apartment with the door closed, the door is not completely open but It was rather ajar and Julián was very curious, he immediately leaned out and asked is there anyone at home, what he heard was the noise of a parakeet that was screeching, one of these Australian parakeets.

So he immediately directed his gaze to the place where the squeals were coming from and he could see a cute Australian parakeet that was challenging, but when he looked down his surprise was enormous, on the floor was a fresh corpse because you could see that the blood was running still and it was flowing from the body, a small trickle of blood was seen coming out, there was a woman of about 30 years of age quite young lying on the floor in an irregular shape, it seemed that she had had a struggle, her hands were full of blood and you could see that he had a piece of cloth in his left hand.

Upon reviewing the surroundings of the room, Julián was astonished and was able to notice that all the things were thrown away, which made him immediately think that this was the work of a criminal, this woman had been robbed at her home and immediately realizing this He approached the woman to see if she had any vital signs, he took her pulse, placed his ear over his nose to listen if she was breathing and evidently she had no pulse or breathing.

So the woman had apparently been robbed inside her own house and this was not the first time he had seen a dead person because in his profession as a paramedic he was used to seeing dead bodies very frequently, so what he did was immediately call to the emergency services to deal with the fresh corpse. These are the things that happen in a superblock, one of the many things and the many mysteries that we can find here and that we will surely address on other occasions.

This has been my five-minute story for today.
