X-Men Behind the Scenes

in #mystique7 years ago

A few weeks ago, Bryan Singer, the director of X-Men: Days of Future Past, took to Instagram to post a candid behind the scenes snapshot from the blockbuster superhero film.

In the photo we see the cast and crew in a moment of levity as they posed for the impromptu photo. What stood out most to me, and maybe it did for you, is Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) can be seen in full makeup perched upon a table and with her leg stretched out as if to playfully kick her co-star, James McAvoy (Charles Xavier).

I personally love seeing candid shots from movies like this, especially ones that show how the cast and crew can still enjoy lighthearted moments even in the midst of a tense scene.

On a more professional note, the Mystique makeup design in the X-Men movies has always been a favorite of mine. Ever since Rebecca Romijn donned the blue bodypaint and prosthetics in the original trilogy to Jennifer Lawrence today embodying the soul and guile of our favorite shapeshifting mutant. Recreating this makeup has been at the top of my list for awhile, but alas, due to the lengthy time such a makeup would take (8-12 hours minimum) I have yet been able to find the time to transform a model fully into Mystique. Perhaps one day.

Nice find. You should definitely find the time to recreate this! It's challenging, but people will love it :)

Im all for it, it's just a matter of finding a model. Too many models these days can't sit still for a few hours let alone 10 or more.

Oh, I guess he might be missing making an X-Men movie?
