The Economic Freedom Fighters is a rogue party of the ANC claiming to be on the side of the poor. It is led by former ANC youth wing personalities who were caught with their hands in awkward cookie jars, leading to their expulsion. They now punt a populist and entirely reactionary program of division of tbe national discourse along racial lines and push for greater involvement of the state in all economic spheres. Certainly, their aims are greater economic freedom, but contrary to their public persona, it seems that behind the scenes they are really aiming to free up the economy to a select elite.
