Cottage cheese white formation: A cottage cheese white formation on your tongue could indicate that you have a yeast infection or oral thrush. Typical in young children, thrush also affects people with diabetes, with autoimmune diseases and the elderly.

Red lesions: Persistent red lesions could be a sign of skin cancer. You might confuse it with canker sores, but remember that canker sores go away within two weeks, but red lesions or patches that don’t go away could be severe.
